Motorcycles, car almost involved in streak accident
A streak accident between motorcycles and a car almost occurred in Karanganyar last Thursday night. A car nearly hit a motorcyclist who was going to cross the road. Although the car could stop before it crashed the motorcycle, the sudden stop made a motorcycle behind it bumped the car.
“I was from Solo Steak, Karanganyar, and was going to cross
the road. There was a parker who helped me to cross the road. He had already
stopped the vehicles, but I could see a car went fast from afar. I thought it
would stop, so I crossed the road. However, the car did not stop and almost hit
me. Fortunately, the driver could control the car, so I did not get hurt. The
car made a brake sound followed by a bumping sound from behind the car. It
turned out a motorcycle bumped into it because the car suddenly stopped,” said
Mega Ningrum, the motorcyclist.
According to her, she was also guilty of the accident. Mega
crossed the road at a slow speed since she had to watch the opposite street.
She was not paying attention to the car because she thought it had stopped.
Mega assumed that the car driver was startled due to the fact that she did not
immediately cross the road. Therefore, it made a sudden stop, which
unfortunately made the driver behind the car bumped.
People around the scene warned the drivers by shouting when
the car almost hit the motorcyclist. It was because a worse accident could
happen if the car driver were seconds late to slam the brakes.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. Although
the back of the car was slightly dented due to the bump, the driver did not
mind it. People involved in the accident did not prolong the problem. They
chose to continue their trip instead of worsening the situation.
“I was so scared, but now I am so grateful nobody injured. From now on, I will be more careful when crossing a street,” stated Mega.
