Nadya Krisnanda Devi: A girl who keeps chasing her dreams

As a young girl, having many dreams is a normal thing, and Nadya Krisnanda Devi is no exception. Her dreams lead her to keep chasing them and not give up on them easily.

Early life

Nadya was born on September 11, 1999, in Magetan, East Java. She is the youngest of three siblings. She was raised with lots of affection from both her parents and her two sisters. She is a cheerful girl who likes painting and traveling.

The story of her dreams

After graduating from elementary school, Nadya managed to attend SMPN 1 Magetan, the most favored junior high school in Magetan. In ninth grade, she had a dream to become one of the three students who will achieve the highest national examination score in her school and to attend SMAN 1 Magetan. She was motivated to make her dream came true, thus she studied hard and used her phone only before going to bed. Finally, when the results were announced, she got what she hoped for in her prayer. She became a student with the third-highest score in her school, and also a student with the fourth-highest score in Magetan. Both she and her parents could not contain their happy tears as they heard about the news.

“During my junior high school graduation ceremony, I was so happy that I was able to take my mother to the stage to receive an award. It will be a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life,” said Nadya.

With her high score, Nadya could continue her education by attending her dream school, SMAN 1 Magetan, which also the most favored high school in Magetan. Having supportive parents, allowing her to participate in various activities. In tenth grade, she registered herself with little preparation in ‘Bagus Dyah 2016’, a pageant event for tourism and culture ambassadors’ election in Magetan, unfortunately she didn’t pass. Being more motivated by her previous failure, she tried to register once again with better preparation in 2017. Thankfully, she passed the selection process and continue to the next round. Even though she did not become the first place, her hard work had paid off when she got the title of ‘Dyah Bertalenta’ or the talented participant. Another motivation that kept her striving was her parents’ smile, their proud smile when they saw her could pass the selection and get the title.

Her present dream

As she was born and raised in Magetan, it required her to become an independent girl when she moved to Surakarta to pursue her education in the English Department, Sebelas Maret University. In 2019 while completing her degree, she registered to become a policewoman, however, she had not yet passed the selection. Nevertheless, she won't give up and will try again next year to make her dream of becoming a policewoman comes true.
