Police conduct 2020 Semeru Zebra Operation

Magetan police are conducting the 2020 Semeru Zebra Operation to curb traffic violations. The plan for the operation is to last for 14 days, starting from Monday.

According to Festo Ari Permana, Magetan Police chief, the 2020 Zebra Operations are carried out simultaneously in Indonesia to curb traffic violations. Moreover, the police also took action on people who violated health protocol, to help break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.

Health protocol violations can be subjected to Yustisi Operation, while traffic violations to sanctions in the form of a ticket.

“I hope this operation runs smoothly and can reduce the rate of traffic accidents in Magetan,” added Festo as quoted by @diskominfomagetan's post, Dinas Kominfo Magetan’s Instagram.

Several other institutions attended the 2020 Semeru Zebra Operation ceremony on Monday, ranging from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to the Magetan Regency Government. Suprawoto, the regent of Magetan, led the ceremony in the eastern parking lot of Pasar Baru, Magetan.
